Transitioning from military life to civilian life is always going to be scary but I truly believe that if you are on your right path in life everything falls into place and for us right now everything is falling into place. And when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING!!
When my husband, Keith, first told me that he was thinking about getting out of the Coast Guard instead of going to officer school I instantly got excited (you may think that's mean but it's not I swear)! No more moving around?! I could start my business and even maybe get a job?! Kingsley could have lifelong friends?! Keith can get back into his hobbies?! I can get back into horseback riding?! Sounds great to me! But then reality started setting in and what felt like a dark cloud rolled over us. Where are we going to MOVE? Where are we going to LIVE? Where are we going to WORK?
When he decided to get out we only had six months to figure out EVERYTHING!! That's crazy!! First we decided we would move back to Ridgecrest, CA and we told our parents. At first they were hesitant about us moving back to the small town we moved away from (they thought we ran from) but you know the saying "it takes a village" well we have such an amazing village there that it just makes sense. We then figured out we could move straight into grandmas house (that we plan on buying), PERFECT another thing off of our list! Then Keith got a call saying he may have to be a reservist in San Diego! That is such a long drive and we don't have family there so he'd have to get a hotel every month, away from family. Due to this, we started to have doubts like "maybe this isn't the right path for us" but later that day he got a call saying that he will get to go to Long Beach which is great because his parents live there. You know what that means?! MONTHLY BEACH TRIPS!!! We also BOTH have jobs lined up for when we move! Heck yeah! So like I stated before, when you are on the right path in life everything falls into place and I truly believe in this season of life we are on our right path and nothing is going to bring us down! See you in two months Cali!
